Jan Willem Kaiser and related works in English

OK, in case you were wondering, that's me, Rogier Fentener van Vlissingen, who is writing this site, and working on these translations. I came to the USA in 1979 from Holland, and that is what led to English becoming my second first language, many years after German had been my first second language for a long time. And so it may make some sense now that I should be engaged in translating this work.
Other dimensions have developed, which I could not have suspected when I started on this project. I left the shipping business seemingly for good within a year after I started on this project, and much later I realized that 1987 was the year of the Harmonic Convergence, bringing with it similar changes for many people.
A Course In Miracles became my spiritual path and I know without any doubt that it's the way home for me. At first I did not want to do the book on Thomas because I was too busy with the Kaiser project and my own book on Mark, but soon I realized that the work on the Thomas book also helped me to flesh out a lot of background that is very important again to completing the work on the Gospel of Mark.
This website tells the story of a work in progress, very slowly, or so it seems, but that's OK. And that's a Vlisco fabric I'm wearing. For some reason I organized an African fashion show in West Haven, Ct in 1997, and ever since I've had a deepening interest in this little bit of family tradition.

Translation is a challenge, and it took me a long time before I felt up to the task of translating Kaiser's work. As time permits, I continue the work, and I hope that other factors may contribute to making it feasible, including perhaps the through the support from my not for profit activity The Course In Tongues (see links), as well as other translation projects.

Note: as of April, 2008, Rogier van Vlissingen has begun to publish a commentary on the Gospel according to Mark, based on the work of Jan Willem Kaiser (Experiencing the Gospel), as well as ACIM. The underlying infrastructure is supplied by www.GreekBibleStudy.org but the notes are currently only available through Rogier's page on Facebook, by clicking on the "B" for Bible, and then joining www.GreekBibleStudy.org, if you are not already a member.
